MS103: Fred Guida Audio/Visual Collection on Charles Dickens -

The Guida Collection is a large collection of motion-picture media that was donated to the Gordon Library by Fred Guida on December 16, 2019. It contains roughly 400 works from as far back as 1901, with around 200 VHS tapes and cassettes, 80 LP records, 5 books, 45 film reels, 15 CDs, and 110 DVDs. These pieces focus on Charles Dickens and his writings, and about half of the material are related to his famous novella, "A Christmas Carol."

MS112: Daniel and Alice Ryan Collection on Charles Dickens -

The collection contains material related primarily to the life, works, and world of English author Charles H. Dickens. Of special interest are letters exchanged with the illustrators of his works and others affiliated with Victorian literature and culture. Artwork by illustrators employed by Dickens, images of those illustrators, periodicals that represent the first publishing of Dickens' works in the United States of America, and items related to the history of science and baseball are also represented. Biographical and historical notes present in the collection are provided by the donor solely for context and are not to be interpreted as original scholarship. The Daniel and Alice Ryan Collection also includes an associated collection of books which are catalogged seperately. Notable items include bound and serial first editions, rare printings, and two printing plates and one wood block used for First Edition printings of Dickens's works.
